The academic year is coming to a close. Your regular class schedule may be changing and we will be transitioning into the summer schedule. The summer looks to bring heat, humidity, and rainy weather and if your anything like me, this is your favorite time of year here in Florida.
BHSO will be holding an end of the year gathering. There will be massive amounts of food, good people, and good times. Please take time off from your busy schedule to attend this event. It will be held in CPH on the 25th in the afternoon.
The academic year 2012-2013 was a year of extensive growth for our student organization. 3 officers, treasurer, secretary/webmaster, and public relations, were added this year. We wrote our constitution and our budget. We created a real-time website. Among the most important of these accomplishments we have created a mission and tenets as principles to guide the organization to a successful future. We teamed up with the service corp advisory committee and Ellen Kent. This collaboration was so important and through our collaboration we had a couple of our best events of the year. Additionally, we have been tracking membership and activity engagement throughout the year. We recognized how valuable the support we provide is for the behavioral health students at USF and our team has been constantly trying to engage the students at USF. 
The effort we have put forth to establish and sustain this student organization has been so rewarding. We continue to do everything we can to improve the lives of the not only the behavioral health students but all students at USF.

Sad news, our vice president Melissa Tirotti will be graduating with her behavioral health graduate degree and moving on to new exciting things. This will leave our student organization without a vice president. Our organization will be open to nominations to fill this position for the 2013-2014 academic year. With all the money we will be receiving next semester to support activities we would like to do everything we can to improve the quality of our activities. To do this we would also like to fill an events coordinator position, who will work with the team of officers to design and host events.

The Behavioral Health Student Organization's regular monthly activities will be coming to a close with the end of this Spring semester. We will be on a hiatus for the summer. The student organization will reconvene at the start of the 2013-2014 academic year, next Fall.
